Important facts about diamonds.

The value of a diamond can be determined by four criteria. These are weight in Carat, Color, Cut and Clarity, the so-called four C’s.

Carat

The weight of a diamond is measured in carat. One carat is equivalent to 0.20 grams.

Color

The color of a diamond is determined dependent on a color table. The color levels can be represented by the letters D (highly fine white) to Z (yellow toned).

Clarity

The clarity of a diamond can be determined by size, color, form and location of the inclusions in the stone. The highest level of clarity starts with the rating Internally Flawless and continues to VVS1-2 (Very Very Slight Inclusions), VS1-2 (Very Slight Inclusions) and SI1-2 (Slight Inclusions) to the area of visibility to the naked eye P1-3 (Pikee).

Cut

Within the different kinds of shapes such as the Princess-Cut, Emerald-Cut, Asscher-Cut, Oval-Cut, Radiant-Cut, Drop-Cut, Heart-Cut and Cushion-Cut, the Brilliant Cut with the 58 facets has established itself strongly as the most popular one.
